Trouble Sending Email

If you are having issues sending or receiving emails, the first thing you should do is check your internet connectivity.  If you are connected to a router via an ethernet wire, ensure that it is connected securely to the back of your machine.  If you are reading this page right now, you are more than likely connected to the internet! :)

If you are using an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird to connect to your email account, make sure the proper settings are in place.  If your email was working fine, and stopped working without you making any changes, check to see if any recently installed programs such as a firewall or antivirus is blocking your email program from accessing the internet.

Common incorrect settings that will cause email to stop sending are incorrect port numbers, as well as incorrect usernames or passwords.  Ensure that your outgoing server is set to "mail.yourdomain.com" (substituting the yourdomain.com part with your website name and without using quotes) and the port number is set to 25.  If you are still unable to send email, make sure your username is the entire email address typed out, including the domain name, and your password is correct.  We are able to reset your email password for you, just submit a support ticket if you need assistance with that.   Another possibility is that your ip address was blocked from the server due to excessive login failures.  Simply submit a support ticket and we will check this for you, and whitelist your ip should this be the case.
